What is Microneedling?
Microneedling (also known as skin needling/ rejuvenation or collagen induction therapy) is a type of treatment that uses small needles to cause thousands of tiny punctures in the skin. These microscopic punctures are in the surface of the skin, which are very small and shallow so generally, the treatment is NOT painful. They are able to stimulate your body’s natural wound response, forcing your skin to heal and repair itself stimulating the production of EGF-Epidermal Growth Factors. This results in the skin looking firmer, smoother, and healthier and when used alongside topical solutions or serums better results are achieved, rehydrating the skin and repairing damaged skin tissue.
As your skin repairs, the production of collagen and elastin are triggered to give an almost immediate plumping effect. It can also help tackle other skin damage such as scarring, dark marks, sun damage and ageing.

Micro-needling treatments can be repeated regularly in order to maintain healthy and youthful looking skin, more accessible and economical compared to other anti-aging cosmetic treatments.

Benefits of Microneedling
Microneedling is most commonly used to treat the following skin conditions:
Dull skin: Rejuvenate tired and dull skin and combat the initial signs of ageing.
Wrinkles: Fine lines and wrinkles on the face can be visibly reduced, as microneedling triggers collagen production.
Scarring: Scars from acne and Chicken Pox can be improved and an uneven texture can be smoothed out with microneedling.
Pigmentation: Can help to fade dark patches such as pigmentation due to sun damage or ageing.
Treatments can be performed on the body as well as the face.

During the Microneedling Facial treatment-
I use professional CLINICARE products throughout these treatments. These products are
all vegan and cruelty free.
You will experience a relaxing facial treatment, starting with a double facial cleanse and a chemical peel with active ingredients to remove the dead skin cells. The full needling treatment will then start using the needles at various depths to suit the skin type along with EGF mesotherapy cocktails matching the skins requirements. To finish a CLINICARE sheet mask is applied. These are extremely cooling to the skin. Sheet masks are one of the most effective delivery systems of nutrients to the skin. The sheet mask act as a 'second skin', this close dermal contact encourages the skin to absorb the serum faster and more efficiently than traditional masks and creams. Depending on the ingredients used in the formula, sheet masks typically provide intense hydration and nourishment, and help repair damaged skin cells whilst simultaneously promoting the growth of new healthy skin cells.

Upon consultation and throughout treatments I will be able to advise how many sessions are needed. This all depends on the area that needs to be treated and the outcome the client wants. If you would like to try the treatment first you can opt for the individual session but I always advise a course of three treatments, one a month over three months so that you can see the effect of the needling.
You do achieve instant results visible on the surface of the skin, however all the magic happens UNDER the skin. This takes time and cannot be rushed. You will notice more and more of a difference in the months following your treatments.
You should be aware that you will experience redness following the treatment that can last 24 + hours. Your skin will feel like it has mild sunburn and can be very dry in the days following. This treatment should be carried out on a day where you can go home and rest after.
No makeup or products should be worn to your appointment OR applied after treatment
on that first day. You should wait 4 weeks in-between treatments and 4-6 weeks to fully
see results from the last session.
